Dimensional Weight Calculator

Enter box dimensions and actual weight to get DIM weight for UPS, FedEx, DHL, and other carriers. Use for shipping and freight.

About this calculator

How to use

Enter length, width, and height in inches (or your preferred unit if the tool supports it) and the actual weight. The calculator computes dimensional (volumetric) weight using the carrier's divisor and shows billable weight.

What the results mean

Billable weight is the greater of actual weight and dimensional weight. Carriers charge on billable weight, so a light but large box can cost more than a heavier, smaller one.

Common mistakes

Using the wrong divisor (e.g. 139 for domestic vs 166 for international) gives wrong DIM weight. Measuring inside vs outside dimensions can also change the result; use the same method the carrier uses.
